Ruffus
Ruffus was only a young puppy when he rescued by Ben from a run down Taco Bell where rocks were being thrown at him. Ruffus wouldn’t come to Ben at first, but when Ben whistled for him, Ruffus came running. He was incredibly skinny and had fleas all over him. Ben fed him kibble and gave him water, followed by many baths. The vet couldn’t find a microchip on him, and since nobody claimed him, he was adopted into the Velez family. Ruffus made a shocking comeback, and is living happily in the Velez household to this day.
Sometimes, when his hair is poofed up just right, Ruffus looks an awful lot like Chewbacca from Star Wars. Here’s a side by side comparison. How cute!
Ruffus finds amusement in “stealing” the possessions of the people in the family. If Ruffus is feeling like he is not receiving the amount of attention he would like, he will wait until an object that the targeted human treasures is left alone. Then he will snag the object, dance around with it to get the selected humans attention, and then run, forcing the person to chase him down to get the object back.
Ruffus usually targets socks, although he has taken a variety of objects including hair brushes, tooth brushes, shoes, hats, wallets, books, pens and pencils, and any other item he thinks is getting more attention than him. That crazy canine!
